St.Valentine - Demos 1988 (Melodic Hard Rock) USA
12:47
Good melodic hard rock band who had Slaughters Dana Strum as producer and also managed to enlist the talents of Mark Slaughter himself, and Jeff Scott Soto as backing vocalists. They looked like a Glam band and vocally I guess they were. But the songs were keyboard infected melodic hard rockers that remind me of somewhat of Rob Rocks, Driver.Vocalist John Ward was English, and would front Shy for their "Welcome To The Madhouse" album.

Lickity Split - Stick It In 2009 (Hair Metal/Glam) USA

Another treasure dug up by Retrospect Records and first time ever on cd for the enigmatic L.A. Sunset-Strip based 80s Hair Metal / Glam act LICKITY SPLIT. Headlining clubs like the Troubadour , the Whiskey , Gazzarri's and The Roxy alongside bands like Guns n Roses , Tuff and LA Guns , LICKITY SPLIT was a band that unfortunately slipped thru the cracks. Now they have been resurrected and this is an excellent slice of 80s Hard Rock. Lickity Split re-united for Rocklahoma 2009 and won over a legion of new fans. Every 80s Glam / Hair Metal fan needs this in their collection. Lickity Split - Stick It In 2009 (Hair Metal/Glam) USA

Classy one off release that is a fusion of bands like Sheriff, Roadmaster, Equinox and some hard rock along the lines of Visitor and Van halen. Kind of like a covers band has taken all the best bits from some great groups and created their own stonking pomp/rock hybrid. And isn't it truly amazing what magic hides behind a bland face?! because without a doubt you would pass right over this one, without a second glance at the cover art. Buy at all costs!Sybill - St. 1987 (Melodic Rock) U.S.A.

This album is basically a compilation of tracks taken from previous cassette only albums: Slyboyz 1, and "What Comes After 2". It is also pre Savannah with keyboarder Marty Olga, along with guest musicians Bob Vose (also Fortune-s/t & Storyline) and Dario Dipietrantonio going on to better things with Z records. The music itself is a mish mash of classic melodic aor ("Dreamin", "Solitaire", "The Higher You Get") to more blandola tracks that seem to lose their way. But this is a compilation.
Well worth acquiring for the three afore mentioned tunes alone. Jeff Fraser also has a self-titled album to his name.

I like this guy, very good guitar player. I liked him when he played with GILLAN (FUTURE SHOCK IS A KILLER ALBUM), live with OZZY OSBOURNE after the death of RANDY RHOADS, and the proyect with DEE SNIDER, DESPERADOS. Together with GARY MOORE, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, VINNIE VINCENT, TONY MACALPINE and ALEX MASI one of the best guitarists. (Rene)Torme' - Die Pretty Die Young 1987 (Sleaze Glam) UK

Excellent, blues based, melodic hard rock Ep, released by the enigmatic Italian label, Time Warp, who's releases were always a little suspect, due to the nature of the packaging. So be warned!Hard Charlies music originated in 1993, the artwork here looks like it has been cut/pasted from a possible demo tape, and released on cdr.
Great rockin band , though!

Geronimo! - All The Best Fuckin' Shit 2003 (Hard Rock/Sleaze) 1988/2003

Wow, this is an absolute killer record, especially the live tracks are really rocking (1-14). In the line up are David M. Philips and Johnny Rod from King Kobra, Lizzy borden. This stuff reminds me of Dee Snider's Desperado or Chet Thompsons'Slamnation. You can download all the songs as mp3 from their website. It's so good i'm considering to buy the original cd.(zld)Geronimo! - All The Best Fuckin' Shit 2003 (Hard Rock/Sleaze) 1988/2003

Interesting, blues flavored melodic rock, out of Ohio.Vocals are mixed male/female, and there is on occasion an overdose of brass, amidst some of the chugging riffs. But then this band are from Ohio, and bands from Ohio, to not follow the normal melodic rock conventions.(just ask Jonah Koslen).
A good one for fans of Tantrum, Headpins and Joanna Dean.

Very good British band (or were they...?) who released this nice ep of catchy melodic aor, with emphasis on the keys. Rumoured to have another ep. Considering this was released on a major label, not much is known about the band, but we hope that it will not stay like that.If you like the idea of a combination of FM, Bite The Bullet and No Sweat, with a couple of semi-acoustic moments, this band will more than satisfy.
