Circus - Stay For The Ride 2005 (Hard Rock) US
Excellent Hard Rock /Glam 80's style. They remind me of Attraction, Trixie, early Poison. This sounds like a very good demo quality. Highlight songs are She Does What She Wants, Candy, Stay For The Ride, Goin' Wild. I hope we can hear more from Circus as I would think they have more material in their archives of demos and live shows.(game)

Billy Katt - Secret Smiles (1982) AOR
Eighties nostalgics should remember William Katt. This prolific Hollywood actor always be remembered for his main role on ‘The Greatest American Hero’ TV series during 1981-86. But he has been part of major movies such as the classic ‘Carrie’ or the comedy / horror ‘House (1986)’ flick as well. Due the success of ‘Greatest American Hero’ first season, his management decided to exploit William’s vocal studies and inked a deal with MCA for a LP. Released under the moniker ‘Billy Katt’, “Secret Smiles” failed to chart and quickly went out of print.
The truth is that William at the mic isn’t bad at all. In fact many songs here are really well performed and production is fine. Style-wise this LP is basically radio rock & pop oriented with the typical early ’80s sound. The vinyl is a collector’s piece among Westcoast fans, as some slow tunes here go in that direction. “China” is the ‘action-movie’ uptempo AOR track on the album, and a quite good one, in the Frank Stallone’s ‘Far From Over’ vein. Karroll Brothers - St 1978 / Baby Get Down 1980 (AOR) Canada
Karroll Brothers perplexes me, because it does contain some decent material, but it seems tame when considering the band's self-proclaimed "high energy rock" status. Most of what can be found here is decent, if unremarkable, classic rock with slight AOR flourishes. Synths can be found all over the place, but only as a means of coloring the arrangements. The melodies seem to be the downfall here, as they do little to enhance the memorability of the material. Most of the tracks here are midtempo and lackadaisical, doing little to create dynamic peaks and valleys.
Danny Wilde - ST 1989 (AOR) US
Brilliant album by the man behind the Rembrandts. Great breezy AOR with killer tunes and lyrics. The Stuff That Dreams are Made of kicks it off in fine style and sets the tone for the rest of the album. The choruses and harmonies are cool...not overly layered but just right. Cut From Stone is my fave track but in a dark alley at midnight Vlevet Chains sometimes beats it. Another must have album.(VZLA)

Crosby also tried several musical projects, first (after Ratt) meeting with a friend from San Diego, a bandmate from Phenomenon and former Warrior / Atomic Playboys vocalist, Perry McCarty, Krys Baratto, Dino Guerrero and Mark Lewis as a Updated version of Secret Service, a nickname used by McCarty and Crosby previously for their previous band to Ratt San Diego. He later moved to El Paso in 1996, briefly played with the Country / Western group Bill & Kev & War Party. One of his latest projects was with former collaborator and former Ratt bass player, Juan Croucier.

Ransum is an American hard rock band with members based in North Dakota, Iowa, and Arizona formed in 1993. This was a major league band that just disappeared and definetely worth more attention back in days. The quality of their songs among their strong and catchy songwriting reminds bands like Madison, Spellbound, Titan and many others. This four tracks work released in 1994 on Paphian Recording Company. "Love Saves The Day' "Maybelline" and "Holy Rollers" are high points on this one. Sounds cheaply produced but songs are really good. Bought it used for $10 at a flea market in Ashland, KY last summer. Singer sounds like Rod Stewart and Jack Russell had a kid--he is VERY good. Better than average band/ about 8 on a 10 scale.(neal)

The final act of this band was to release this "full lenght" that is,as said above,none than the EP of the same name plus some songs left apart back then...production average but a bit better than their EP's...tracks 7 & 11 are the ones i enjoyed here that are from the aforementioned Ep itself...tracks 2,3,4 & 6 are also fine ones...Faster Pussycat was the main reference.(vzla)
