Freeway - St 1979 (AOR/Pop) UK/US
13:37
Freeway wasn't actually a band but a project of the rather busy session pianist/organist John Hobbs and the legendary west coast producer/musician Terry Melcher.
If you haven't heard of Melcher yet (who was a son of Doris Day) check his biography at Wikipedia. He worked with the Beach Boys, Dylan, The Mamas & Papas to name but a few and was involved with the Manson Family.
A very west coasty career yet this effort sounds more like an east coast affair as it is reminiscent of the early Steely Dan.
Quite a pleasant album with Mel Collins on sax.(ripertoire)

Pet Hate - Bad Publicity 1984 (Hard Rock/Glam) UK
2:56
Glam/power-pop records to come out of the UK in the 80's, I'm talking about Pet Hate's "Bad Publicity". Formed from the ashes of Silverwing, Pet Hate's first record "The Bride Wore Red" was followed up by this rarely talked about gem. Not only did they borrow the title of the record from white-clad US rockers Angel, they went one step further and hired the same guy who produced Angel's "Bad Publicity" record. And if you're an Angel fan.
Bill Cantos - Who Are You 1995 (AOR) US
13:53
After lending his vocal and instrumental talents to numerous contemporary gospel and crossover jazz sessions, Bill Cantos steps out on his own with Who Are You, a set of vocal numbers that's informed by his previous work, but actually falls more into the category of adult contemporary pop. The arrangements are naturally dominated by Cantos' keyboard and piano work, and the lyrics by his unabashedly romantic sensibility, which is occasionally imbued with a spiritual subtext. Cantos isn't a bad songwriter in his chosen field, which makes it appealing to fans of both adult contemporary and smooth jazz-pop.

Koha - St 1988 (Hard Rock) US,California
8:33
Band from California release this demo tape back in 1988. These guys rock out big time. The beginning song sound’s like Van Halen riff. All three songs are giant slices of 80s rock with sonic vocals and chorus. The drums are over the top and the guitars give you a real sonic assault. This is what 80s hard rock is all about. Koha’s demo is one of the best unknown work from the late 80s and early 90s.

Favorite Recordings proudly presents this new official album reissue of An Eye For An Eye by Byrne & Barnes: A true WestCoast/AOR masterpiece, produced in legendary music city Muscle Shoals (Alabama) and originally only released on Japanese label Climax.
In 1981, Robert Byrne followed up to his 1979 album, Blame It On The Night, by teaming-up with multi-instrumentalist Brendan Barnes to record this rare WestCoast classic.
