“Solitary Nite” was the first song Robby Valentine wrote that was released as a single. It was perfrormed by the band Line, in which Robby was the keyboard player and backing vocalist. Lead singer was Jan Klapwijk who later joined coverband Jack in the Box. Via an ad in the newspaper he joined the symphonic rockband Line from Rotterdam. Line gained some attention by releasing a single “Solitary Nite/Seasons”, written by Robby. The single was played several times on the radio but never had any chart succes. Due to lack of succes, Robby decided to quite Line and to startup a band himself.
