Second Sight is a new AOR-project from Italy and this is damn good stuff. "Back on Earth" is a 5-track EP filled with fantastic AOR-songs with wonderful melodies and strong hooklines. It made me think of bands like Street Talk, Sunstorm, Harem Scarem´s (debut) and Khymera. They have 4 different singers and they are all really good and therefore the variation is really great. The production is very good and the sound is very clean and tight. My favourite song of the album is the stunning Talk To Me that starts with keyboards that reminds of Bon Jovi´s Runaway that really hooked me up. The rest of the song is fantastic with great hooks and a awesome chorus. Your Eyes is a mid-tempo song with a brilliant harmony vocals in the chorus and with great keyboards as well. A song that reminds of Khymera. Heart Of Stone is a strong guitar rocker with a big hooklines and a superb chorus. I love their way of using the keyboards that gives the album an awesome melodic sound. All songs on the album is quality stuff and there is not a single weak track to find here. The band is Gianluca Festinese, Francesco DeBattista, Pier Mazzini and Andrea Maddalone. There also a couple of guests such as Marko Pavic and Alex De Rosso to name two of the most well-known. This was a nice surprise for me and it’s not only My Land, Bruno Rock and Michele Luppi that can deliver high class AOR from Italy. If you´re into AOR with layers of melodies and love lots of keyboards like me then Second Sight is a band you must check out. Highly recommended and I can´t wait to hear more of this brilliant project.
